Samburu Simba Lodge

Samburu Simba Lodge is Located on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river; in the buffalo springs National Reserve, which is part of Samburu ecosystem. The lodge offers 80 ensuite rooms (terrace, reading desk, phone extension, power duct, overhead fan, Mosquito nets, hair dryers are provided on request). The lodge also offers 18 cottages. Interconnecting rooms are available and access for handicapped guests. The Lodge is located in the ideal place for safari destinations which provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the rare Beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the river in the evening.

Samburu Sopa Lodge

Located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, Samburu Sopa lodge is built atop high ground allowing panoramic views of the vastness of Samburu shrub land and the hills beyond. The guest cottages follow the exterior design of centuries-old, traditional Samburu housing, but the similarity stops there. Instead, the structures have much higher ceilings; far larger windows; much more floor space; and en suite bathrooms. All cottages have two airy and comfortable, tastefully furnished guest rooms, each with two queen size beds; a large dressing table; a lavishly appointed bathroom; and an open air veranda which overlooks the waterhole.

Sasaab

Perched on the edge of a river valley, the architecture of Sasaab blends Swahili and Moroccan design principals in which the African heat is of primary consideration. Each of the nine canvas-sided rooms is over 100m² with private plunge pools and breath-taking views across the Laikipia Plateau toward the jagged peaks of Mount Kenya. Its position above the river naturally facilitates watching the herds of elephant that come to bathe below as well as a host of other wildlife.

Samburu Intrepid Tented Camp

Samburu Intrepid Luxury Tented Camp set in the Kenyan semi-arid north, offers 28 modern and newly refurbished tents with a private view over the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Each tent sits on a raised deck overlooking the brown river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks.

Sarova Shaba Game Lodge

Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is located in a natural oasis in the heart of the Shaba Game Reserve just east of Samburu, or one can say, in the “Born Free Country” that Joy and George Adamson called home for many years. The lodge is 314 km from Nairobi, a 45-minute flight from Nairobi to Shaba or Samburu airstrip or a picturesque 5-hour drive through the curving roads around Mt. Kenya crossing the equator at Nanyuki. It is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The Lodge has a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees, a fish pond and a large free form swimming pool.

Elephant bedroom Tented Camp

Elephant bedroom Luxury Tented Camp is set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and shaded by doum palms and other trees that make up this green belt of riverine forest in Samburu National Reserve. The 14 spacious tents have rustic and colorful African touches, offering all the comforts; including a private plunge pool on the deck, hot and cold running water, electricity (and complimentary herbal shower and bath products.)​. The lounge and dining area is decorated with vibrant safari style, its soft intimate lighting assuring that this is the ultimate place to relax in between exciting game drives. Elephant, Monkeys, Impalas are amongst the camp’s many regular wild visitors, whilst Samburu National Reserve has a good number of lions and leopards and offers the opportunity to see many species endemic to northern Kenya.
