We will have two extensive game drives exploring the exotic Sweetwaters Sanctuary. As our camp overlooks one of the best waterholes in the area, this will give us a good view of the wild life such as elephants, giraffes and myriad plains game among others.

Sweetwaters (Ol pejeta Conservation Area)-Lake Naivasha (199km)

After an early morning breakfast, you leave the Laikipia highlands and drive to the former fertile “White Highlands” characterized by large commercial wheat and barley farms. At Nyahururu, formerly Thomson Falls, named after the famous Explorer Thomson, you will stop for lunch, watching water of the Ewaso Nyiro River dropping down a 100 meters. After lunch you drive via Nyandarua District to Lake Naivasha.

Pre-breakfast game drive, afternoon depart for Naivasha, arrival at Lake Naivasha will be in time for a delicious lunch at the Lake Naivasha Country Club or similar. The remainder of the afternoon will be at your leisure, with the opportunity of going on a nature walk, hiring a boat to take you the famous Crescent Island, or simply relaxing by the swimming pool.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual

migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

A full day in this photogenic park. Morning and afternoon game drives. Amboseli means ‘the place of water’ in Maasai language. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro. Animal species seen include elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. Over 400 species of birds occur in the park includes pelican, bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle and pygmy falcon.

After an early breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast.
